Ristorante Convivium

A pleasant discovery in the Ceramics district in Grottaglie. We were 5 adults and 2 little girls: as starters, we had a trio of croquettes, fried paccheri and capocollo with mozzarella (all accompanied by warm bread). As first courses, the girls shared a pepperoni pizza, we had 2 plates of ravioli stuffed with burrata cheese on red prawn sauce, 1 plate of fusilloni with seafood, 1 smoked pizza and a roasted octopus with mashed potatoes and leeks. For dessert, a Nutella semifreddo, a berry cheesecake and another pistachio cheesecake. All accompanied by a bottle of white wine. Coffee and bitters. The final bill was 170 euro (which translates roughly to 30 euro/person, considering the 2 girls as one adult). Fast service and very friendly staff. Reservation is strongly recommended. Parking can be found nearby.

The restaurant, in addition to having a wonderful location and giving you a suggestive atmosphere, thanks to the owner Maurizio together with his staff manage to make you feel at home! We returned here like every year, but this time we decided to do an encore: two days in a row. We tasted numerous dishes, leaving nothing out. Everything was exquisite. I confirm what was expressed in the previous review, with the only exception that the house starter is no longer available, but the dishes can be ordered individually. Absolutely not to be missed is the croquette with 'nduja, burrata and spinach: a real delight. I recommend you try this restaurant. The previous review: This is without a doubt my favorite restaurant in and around Grottaglie, and perhaps even in all of Puglia. We have been coming here every summer for over 10 years... and have never been disappointed. The food is really good, the prices are honest, the owner is a lovely person: extremely friendly, helpful and professional. He does his job excellently. The service is fast and efficient thanks to two girls and a boy, always kind and punctual. The tables outside are positioned on a delightful terrace. The menu offers numerous options, all prepared with great care. The choice is really difficult given the variety. However, we asked if it was possible to have two grilled fish (off the menu) and we were more than satisfied with two delicious, generously sized sea bream. The house appetizer, made up of about ten courses, each more delicious than the next, was memorable. The croquette, fried paccheri and flans are a must-try. The location is in the heart of the ceramics district. To conclude... we will return here next summer and in the meantime, I recommend you stop by, taste these delicacies and let me know your impressions. It is advisable to book in advance. There are two entrances: a steeper one with many stairs from the main street, and another easier one located at the back.

At the Convivium restaurant, dining in total relaxation is a pleasure! Top food, pizza and service. Point of reference for the Grottaglie area and also for those who come to visit the city of ceramics. Furthermore, located in a strategic place such as the ceramics district, the restaurant offers a beautiful view of the entire street. I am a regular customer and recommend it to anyone who wants to try their cuisine for the first time!
